Tom28 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2013 Depending how complex your arrangements are it's better doing it yourself. The etax software is pretty helpful in terms of what you can claim or google it/ATO website. Just did mine took 10 minutes 2k refund!
loogieboogie10 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2013 We have the software downloaded and we have done some mock run throughs while we wait on final paperwork coming through. Its very user friendly, even for me We use an accountant who specialises in my husbands industry, as well as having experience of our Visa type. I always recommend getting referrals from work colleagues or contacting your company personnel manager to see if there is someone who they recommend.

BytheSea 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2013 Cheers. Thanks for that. Not in too much of a hurry as we have only been here for a couple of months and there seems to be so much more that is claimable here and you don't know what you don't know....
BytheSea 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2013 Just want to come back and say that Ralph and Bert are fantastic. Just received a big rebate back from the ATO. They certainly know what they are doing. We knew we were in good hands when we were sat waiting for our appointment and there was a steady stream of everyday folk coming in to drop stuff off. You could tell that these guys are well respected. So if you are in the area, they are well worth considering, especially for those new to Australia and don't really have a scooby about the tax system.
